**Florida Man Files Class-Action Lawsuit Against Netflix Over Streaming Issues During Tyson-Paul Fight**
A Florida resident has initiated a class-action lawsuit against Netflix following severe streaming issues experienced during the highly anticipated boxing match between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTube personality Jake Paul. Ronald "Blue" Denton from Hillsborough County alleges that Netflix breached its contract by failing to provide a reliable streaming service during the event, reports TMZ.
The lawsuit, filed in Florida state court, is seeking a minimum of $50 million in damages. Denton claims that millions of viewers, expecting to watch "Iron" Mike Tyson face Jake Paul, were met with significant streaming disruptions. Describing the event as the "Baddest Streaming on the Planet," the lawsuit highlights that many fans missed parts of the fight due to frequent interruptions.
"Despite knowing that such issues have occurred previously, Netflix customers were subjected to massive streaming problems," claims the lawsuit. Allegedly, over 100,000 people complained online about numerous issues, including no access, glitches, and buffering problems.
During the eight two-minute rounds fight, countless viewers turned to social media, venting their frustrations over the poor streaming quality. Down Detector noted that about 85,000 viewers reported outages or streaming problems just before the fight.
Netflix reported that the bout drew an audience of 60 million worldwide, peaking at 65 million concurrent streams. Close to 50 million households tuned in for the co-main event featuring Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, where Taylor retained her undisputed super lightweight championship.
Set in Arlington, Texas, at the AT&T Stadium, the fight was Netflix's most significant live sports event to date and was streamed globally to its 280 million subscribers at no extra charge. Netflix has yet to comment further but mentioned it would provide additional viewership details in the coming week.
