### Netanyahu Vows Continued Conflict Until Israel’s Security is Assured

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged unwavering efforts to secure Israel's northern regions amid ongoing clashes between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hezbollah. Speaking to the United Nations, Netanyahu declared, "we are winning" and reassured that Israel "will not rest" until safety is restored for its residents. He also issued a stern warning to Hezbollah’s benefactor, Iran, stating, "there is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach."

The violence has taken a harsh toll, with local Lebanese officials reporting nearly 800 fatalities from Israeli air strikes since the escalation began. The conflict's devastating impact was notably evident in a Lebanese village, where Orla Guerin from the BBC reported extensive destruction due to an Israeli strike.

Israel’s stated objective is to eliminate the threat posed by Hezbollah and facilitate the return of displaced individuals to northern Israel. Hezbollah, backed by Iran, claims its actions are in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

The situation in Beirut remains tense, with multiple explosions heard and large smoke plumes rising from Dahieh, a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut. The Israeli military confirmed ongoing strikes targeting Hezbollah positions but did not provide further specifics.

Complicating matters further, Yemen’s Houthi movement has declared its involvement, claiming missile and drone attacks on central Israel as an expression of support for Palestinian and Lebanese resistance. The Houthis stated they launched a ballistic missile aimed at Jaffa, a suburb of Tel Aviv, and attempted a drone strike on Ashkelon. Israeli forces reported intercepting a missile from Yemen overnight.

Netanyahu’s address to the UN General Assembly in New York was notably assertive. Extending well beyond his allotted time, he made no reference to US-led proposals for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. Instead, he vowed continued combat until Israel's goals are fully realized. This stance leaves Washington's diplomatic efforts for a truce unattended, highlighting a significant point of contention.

During his speech, Netanyahu centered on what he termed the "curse" of Iran, appealing to global powers to align with Israel against it. He emphasized that Israel’s reach could extend anywhere in Iran and across the Middle East.

Discussing the Gaza conflict, Netanyahu clarified that Israel does not intend to resettle the area but aims for a demilitarized and de-radicalized Gaza. He expressed openness to working with regional and international partners to support a civilian administration in Gaza committed to peaceful coexistence.

Concluding his speech, Netanyahu criticized the UN, describing it as a "house of darkness" and a "swamp of antisemitic bile," while arguing that until Israel is treated equitably among nations, the UN's credibility remains undermined.
