**National Guard Mobilized Across States for Election Day Security**
The Pentagon has announced the mobilization of National Guard soldiers to ensure security during the upcoming Election Day. Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder emphasized on Monday that this is a standard procedure, particularly for large-scale events in Washington, D.C.
During a news briefing, Ryder stated, "It is routine practice for the [Department of Defense] to authorize the D.C. National Guard to support or augment security for large-scale events in the District." He also assured that the activated guardsmen would remain under the control of the D.C. National Guard until November 13.
Sixty National Guard members from six states have already been activated following orders from their respective governors. In addition, another group of 600 soldiers from 17 states is on standby, ready for activation if needed.
The Associated Press reported that the governors of Nevada and Washington have specifically put some of their National Guard members on alert ahead of Election Day to further bolster security measures.
