Multiple Rescues Made as Hikers are Airlifted off Trail in McDowell Sonoran Reserve

In a dramatic turn of events, Scottsdale firefighters sprang into action to rescue a group of 13 hikers, including several children, who found themselves lost on a trail within the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The incident resulted in four people, including three children, being hospitalized.
Aerial footage captured the intense operation as rescuers airlifted a 10-year-old child who was showing signs of heat exhaustion. Despite the harrowing ordeal, the child is reportedly in good spirits and receiving appropriate medical care at the hospital. Additionally, two other young children, believed to be around 1-year-old, were carefully carried off the mountain and also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
An adult woman was also among those who required medical assistance and was transported to the hospital. Fortunately, everyone involved, apart from the four hospitalized individuals, was able to safely descend the mountain.
Details regarding how long the group had been on the mountain before being rescued remain unclear. However, family members of the group mentioned that they are visiting from out of town, further emphasizing the importance of preparedness and awareness when hiking in unfamiliar territories.
