In a recent development following country singer Morgan Wallen's arrest for allegedly throwing a chair off the rooftop of a Nashville bar, his ex-fiancée KT Smith has come forward to clear the air. Smith firmly stated that the incident was not connected to her surprise marriage to Luke Scornavacco, as some speculations suggested.
Speaking to the Daily Beast, Smith, who shares a three-year-old son with Wallen, emphasized that although the timeline might suggest a correlation, she had no evidence to link the chair-throwing incident to her recent marriage announcement. She expressed her hopes for Wallen, stating, "I cannot speak on Morgan's behalf, but I do pray the very best for him. Praying that this was just a slip-up and that he will return to the good path that he was on prior."
These comments from Smith come in response to claims made by an anonymous source, reported by the Daily Mail, suggesting that the incident was a result of Wallen learning about Smith's marriage to Scornavacco, who is 22 years old. However, another source, as reported by The Post, dismissed these claims as fabricated.
Smith and Wallen commenced their relationship in 2016 and got engaged shortly after. Although they later ended their engagement, they continued their romance for several years before officially parting ways in July 2020. Meanwhile, Smith and Scornavacco surprised their social media followers with news of their engagement on March 30, captioning their Instagram post with "Why save the good things for later." Just five days after their engagement announcement, they revealed that they had secretly tied the knot.
As previously reported, Wallen was arrested outside Chief's bar, owned by his friend Eric Church, shortly after 10:45 p.m. on Sunday. This incident occurred after Wallen's performance at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. According to police officers at the scene, the chair Wallen allegedly threw landed just three feet away from them. His attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed Wallen's cooperation with authorities, stating, "He is cooperating fully with authorities."
Wallen now faces charges of three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct. After posting a $15,250 bond, the Billboard Music Award winner was released from the Davidson County jail at around 3:30 a.m. Several witnesses also reported that Wallen seemed to be laughing after the incident. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 3, the same day as his performance at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, as part of his "One Night at a Time" tour.
