In a remarkable turn of events, a missing Utah teenager and her two young cousins, who disappeared in Mexico two weeks ago, have been located safe, according to the FBI. The 14-year-old Elizabeth Gonzalez and her cousins, Sofia Mailen Moreno Zamora, 6, and Regina Moreno Zamora, 4, went missing on June 30 while Gonzalez was visiting family in Mexico City.

After extensive efforts by Mexican authorities and the FBI, the three girls were found in Veracruz, Mexico. The discovery came shortly after the FBI identified 31-year-old Antonio Moreno, the biological father of Gonzalez's cousins, as a suspect in their disappearance. Moreno, who allegedly took the girls without the permission of their mothers, was apprehended in Veracruz along with the children.

Surveillance footage revealed that Gonzalez and her cousins, who are Mexican nationals, were seen getting into a taxi with Moreno. The FBI suspects that Gonzalez may have been manipulated by Moreno into getting into the taxi, as they believed all four were traveling together.

Following the disappearance, an Amber Alert was issued for the three girls on July 1 by Mexican authorities. The FBI has since issued a federal arrest warrant for Moreno on charges related to Gonzalez's disappearance, including kidnapping. The agency has expressed its intention to seek Moreno's extradition back to the United States.

Prior to the incident, Moreno had been living in Kaysville, Utah, for the past three years. His sudden travel to Mexico and alleged abduction of the three girls has left authorities puzzled and concerned for the safety and well-being of Gonzalez and her cousins.

The FBI's swift action and collaboration with Mexican authorities resulted in the successful location of the missing teenagers and their safe recovery. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts to bring Antonio Moreno to justice for his alleged involvement in Elizabeth Gonzalez's disappearance are underway.

This heartwarming development serves as a reminder of the importance of swift and coordinated efforts in missing persons cases, and the significance of international cooperation in ensuring the safety of individuals across borders.
