Eyewitnesses onboard a flight from Miami to Los Angeles have revealed that former professional boxer Mike Tyson experienced a medical emergency during the journey on Sunday, May 26. According to an exclusive report by In Touch, the incident prompted the plane to issue an announcement asking for medical assistance.
The eyewitnesses mentioned that Mike, 57, was wearing a matching blue and white print cabana set while on American Airlines flight 1815. Prior to takeoff, the plane faced a two-hour delay due to the intense heat in Miami, causing the cabin temperature to rise. However, the delay did not dampen the enthusiasm of fans who recognized the legendary boxer at the Admirals Club before he was escorted to the gate.
The eyewitnesses shared that Mike eventually boarded the plane at 6:30 p.m. However, approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled landing, passengers received a pre-recorded message requesting any medical professionals to come forward or contact the flight attendants due to another passenger needing assistance.
Mike was seated in first class while the eyewitnesses were in the exit row. The witness recalls the stewardess informing them to remain on the plane until it landed and paramedics could enter. The flight attendant also confirmed that the passenger in need of assistance was none other than Mike Tyson.
Upon landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the plane was further delayed for 25 minutes while paramedics attended to Mike. Fortunately, Tyson's representative later confirmed that he was doing well. The medical emergency was attributed to an ulcer flare-up, causing him to feel nauseous and dizzy.
The incident comes just a few months ahead of Mike Tyson's highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul, scheduled for Saturday, July 20, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Despite the age difference between the two fighters, with Tyson being 30 years older than the 27-year-old Paul, the YouTube star has expressed no intentions of taking it easy on the boxing legend.
Jake Paul, who has gained recognition in the ring despite his limited experience, has voiced his determination to go head-to-head with Tyson in an "embarrassing fashion." Meanwhile, Tyson shared his apprehension about the fight during an interview with Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity in April. However, he conveyed his readiness to confront his fears and stated that he has been training diligently for the event.
The upcoming bout will mark Tyson's return to the ring since his exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which resulted in a draw. Having retired in 2005 as the undisputed world heavyweight champ, Tyson's comeback has garnered substantial anticipation. On the other hand, Jake Paul has quickly made a name for himself in professional boxing, with an impressive record of nine wins in his last ten fights.
As the fight draws nearer, both fighters continue to express confidence in their abilities. Fans eagerly await the clash of these two boxing personas, eager to see who will claim victory in this highly anticipated matchup.
