In a surprising turn of events at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, a Michigan delegate was escorted out of President Joe Biden's speech after a group of protesters disrupted the event. Liano Sharon, one of the members of the Abandon Biden movement, unfurled a protest sign reading "STOP ARMING ISRAEL" in the Florida delegation section just a few minutes into Biden's speech.

Despite initially intending to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, Sharon used the opportunity to urge President Biden to implement an arms embargo. "We held up the banner during Biden's speech because he's the decider. He's the one that can do this right now," Sharon explained to reporters after being escorted out of the speech.

As soon as the protest banner was raised, it was quickly taken away by authorities, and the lights in that section of the convention were promptly turned off. However, the incident did not dampen the spirit of other convention attendees, who responded to the disruption by passionately chanting "We love Joe" and proudly displaying their own banners in support of the president.

The Abandon Biden movement has been actively pushing for a reevaluation of the United States' relationship with Israel and the halting of any arms sales to the Middle Eastern nation. Their demonstration during President Biden's speech served as a means to vocalize their demands and put pressure on the administration to take action.

While the disruption caused a momentary interruption, it did not detract from the overall message and unity displayed at the Democratic National Convention. President Biden continued his address, highlighting his administration's accomplishments and laying out his vision for the future of the country.

The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing debate surrounding U.S. foreign policy and its involvement in conflicts abroad. As the nation grapples with complex international issues, events like this are a testament to the power of protest and the importance of engaging in dialogue to effect change.
