### Dvalishvili Calls for Rematch with O’Malley, Eyes Nurmagomedov Next

Merab Dvalishvili is ready to close the chapter on his rivalry with Sean O'Malley decisively. After winning a five-round unanimous decision at UFC 306 to seize the bantamweight title from O'Malley, the former champion has continually insisted that he did enough to earn the victory, particularly highlighting rounds three and five as his.

Despite O'Malley’s claims, many observers believe it was Dvalishvili's grappling that ultimately controlled the fight. Taking to social media, Dvalishvili extended an olive branch by proposing a rematch at UFC 309, set for November 16 at Madison Square Garden in New York. "I hear O'Malley thinks he won the fight and is looking for a rematch. If he wants it, he can have it. Let's do it November 16th at the Garden," Dvalishvili posted on Twitter, tagging O'Malley in the message.

Dvalishvili also assured fans that he is committed to defending his bantamweight title against other top contenders, creating buzz for a potential fight with undefeated bantamweight star, Umar Nurmagomedov. This matchup would see Dvalishvili's impressive 11-fight win streak tested against Nurmagomedov’s perfect 18-0 record.

However, Sean O'Malley seems unlikely to accept the rematch proposal anytime soon. He responded to Dvalishvili’s challenge by citing an upcoming surgery scheduled for October 3 that will keep him out of action well into 2025. "Getting surgery Oct. 3. Fought you with one hip and still beat you. Rounds 1, 3, 5. I'm the champ. Fight Umar," O'Malley tweeted.

Nurmagomedov didn’t stay silent either, taking to social media to suggest that Dvalishvili is avoiding a matchup with him. "He ready to fight with anyone except Umar Nurmagomedov," Nurmagomedov tweeted, adding fuel to the growing anticipation for a Dvalishvili-Nurmagomedov bout.

In a follow-up, Dvalishvili clarified that his intention to give O'Malley a rematch was based on O’Malley’s own assertions of victory. "He is so sure he won the fight that I wanna show him I will beat him again and again," Dvalishvili explained, emphasizing his willingness to fight Nurmagomedov or any other challenger the UFC puts forward after settling the score with O'Malley once and for all.
