Former President Donald Trump's plane was forced to make an unexpected landing in Billings, Montana on Friday afternoon due to a mechanical issue, according to the Billings Airport. The plane landed safely and taxied on the runway as captured by photos and video sent in by a viewer.

As a result of the mechanical issue, Trump will now be taking a private plane to the Bozeman Airport to attend a scheduled rally in Bozeman later in the evening. Before the departure, the Secret Service is conducting a thorough sweep of the airport in Billings to ensure proper security measures are in place.

The rally, which is set to take place at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University in Bozeman, is expected to draw a large crowd. Trump, who endorsed Montana U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy, will be speaking at the event around 8:00 p.m.

The Senate race between Sheehy and incumbent Jon Tester has gained significant attention as one of the most hotly-contested and expensive races of 2024. Sheehy, a Republican, is vying for the seat currently held by Democrat Tester.

The unexpected landing in Billings may have caused minor inconvenience for Trump's travel plans, but it has not dampened the anticipation surrounding the rally in Bozeman. Supporters eagerly await Trump's arrival, excited to hear his endorsement of Sheehy and his thoughts on the highly competitive Senate race.

As Trump prepares to address the crowd later this evening, all eyes will be on him to see what impact his endorsement will have on the race, and the larger political landscape in Montana.
