### MDA Responds to Nearly 3,000 Cases over Yom Kippur, One Man Killed in Violent Incident
Yom Kippur saw Magen David Adom (MDA) teams addressing nearly 3,000 instances of medical emergencies across Israel, including the tragic death of a man involved in a violent incident in Jerusalem. Out of the 2,842 individuals requiring assistance, 1,969 were transported to hospitals for further treatment.
A significant number of these cases, specifically 286, stemmed from individuals who either fainted, became dehydrated, or felt unwell due to fasting. Unfortunately, a 41-year-old man from Jerusalem succumbed to injuries inflicted during a violent confrontation. Despite efforts to resuscitate him with CPR and transport him to the hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
In addition to this fatality, forty other people sustained injuries in various violent occurrences across the nation. Among these, one person was in serious condition, four were moderately injured, and 34 had light injuries.
The weekend was also marked by rocket siren alerts on Friday, leading to 12 individuals sustaining minor injuries while seeking shelter. Furthermore, three people were lightly injured by the blast wave from a rocket that hit the western Galilee area.
Accidents involving bicycles, roller skates, scooters, and skateboards also contributed to the medical emergencies, with 261 people requiring medical attention. Of these, six were in moderate condition and 255 suffered light injuries.
Even with a reduced number of vehicles on the roads due to the holiday, 42 individuals were injured in traffic accidents. Out of these, 11 were moderately injured, and 31 incurred light injuries. The period of Yom Kippur thus highlighted a range of medical emergencies that kept MDA teams actively engaged throughout the holiday.
