UFC Vegas 107 faced a dramatic shift just moments before the anticipated main event, as Maycee Barber had to pull out of her fight against Erin Blanchfield due to medical reasons. The highly awaited match was set to headline the UFC's return to the Apex on Saturday.

The disruption began a day before the fight when Barber failed to make the 126lb weight limit, tipping the scales over the allowed weight. Despite this setback, Barber forfeited 20% of her purse to Blanchfield, allowing the fight to proceed. Blanchfield called Barber a clown for missing weight, reciprocating Barber's earlier insult.

Blanchfield had eyed this bout as a significant step towards title contention after her impressive win over Rose Namajunas last November. Despite the unforeseen cancellation, Blanchfield received compensation for both her show and win money, thanks to the 20% of Barber's purse. Following the event, Blanchfield revealed she is uninterested in a re-booking of the fight and is ready to pursue a different matchup moving forward.
