### Manhattan Man Charged with Triple Murder in Random Stabbings
NEW YORK (AP) - A 51-year-old man, Ramon Rivera, faces three counts of first-degree murder following a series of fatal stabbings in Manhattan. Police apprehended Rivera after finding him with bloody clothing and two kitchen knives.
The attacks, described as random and unprovoked, occurred over a span of 2 1/2 hours. Authorities are still piecing together what led Rivera to commit such acts of violence. According to Joseph Kenny, the NYPD's chief of detectives, Rivera launched the assaults without exchanging words or stealing property, simply approaching the victims and viciously attacking them.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed the city's sorrow and confusion, stating, "Three New Yorkers. Unprovoked attacks that left us searching for answers on how something like this could happen," during a news conference.
Rivera is currently awaiting arraignment, and the motives behind his actions remain unclear as investigators continue to delve into the case.
