### Liberal Celebrities Tell Conservatives They're Unwelcome Ahead of Election

As the November presidential election looms just around the corner, liberal celebrities are ramping up their political rhetoric. Radio host Howard Stern recently made headlines by openly criticizing Donald Trump supporters, labeling them as "stupid" and stating he didn't mind losing them as listeners. This outspoken stance from Stern joins a growing list of liberal celebrities who have told conservative fans they aren't welcome.

Earlier this month, SiriusXM's Howard Stern expressed his distaste for Trump voters, calling them unintelligent and stating, "I don't agree with Trump politically, I don't think he should be anywhere near the White House. I don't hate the guy. I hate the people who vote for him. I think they're stupid. I do. I'll be honest with you, I have no respect for you," he said on "The Howard Stern Show." Stern's blunt remarks followed similar sentiments he expressed prior to the 2020 election.

In 2017, Jimmy Kimmel, the host of ABC's late-night talk show, was questioned about losing viewers due to his political comments. Kimmel acknowledged that his approval ratings among Republicans had significantly declined, but he maintained that he would continue to speak out. A January 2024 study by the Media Research Center found an overwhelming majority of political jokes on major late-night shows targeted conservatives, with Kimmel's show leading with 88% of its political jokes aimed at conservatives.

Hayley Williams, the lead singer of "Paramore," has also taken a strong stand against Republican figures like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Trump. During performances, Williams has made it clear that she wants nothing to do with DeSantis supporters. At a recent concert, she stated, "And if you vote for Ron DeSantis, you're f---ing dead to me." More recently, at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Williams urged people to vote against Trump, framing the election as crucial for preventing a dictatorship and protecting marginalized communities.

Pop singer Pink added her voice to the mix following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022. She took to social media, urging those who support pro-life stances and restrictions on LGBT rights to stop listening to her music. "Let's be clear: if you believe the government belongs in a woman's uterus, a gay person's business or marriage, or that racism is okay- THEN PLEASE IN THE NAME OF YOUR LORD NEVER F---ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN. AND ALSO F--- RIGHT OFF," she posted, though the tweet has since been deleted.

Conservative film critic Christian Toto has commented on these celebrities' actions, cautioning that they may be isolating themselves. Toto suggested that stars in modern Hollywood live in echo chambers and warned that their decision to alienate conservatives could backfire. He pointed out that Jimmy Kimmel's show, in particular, has seen steep declines and predicted that the end of late-night TV might be near, partly due to such polarizing positions.
