### U.S. Intelligence Leak on Israel's Plans Sparks Major Investigation

An investigation is underway into the alarming leak of classified U.S. intelligence documents that detail Israel's planned retaliatory strike on Iran, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced on Sunday. Speaking to CNN's "State of the Union," Johnson revealed he would be briefed on the probe later in the day. "These are serious allegations," Johnson said, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

The leaked documents, shared on the Telegram messaging app last week, were apparently produced by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. They outline U.S. assessments of Israeli Air Force and Navy operations based on satellite imagery from October 15-16. The Pentagon has confirmed it is also investigating the incident.

The context of these documents is the aftermath of a ballistic missile attack on Israel by Iran on October 1, marking the second direct assault on Israel in six months. Israel has vowed a strong response, while President Joe Biden indicated he has a clear understanding of Israel's planned actions against Iran. Biden also hinted at a potential opportunity to halt the ongoing hostilities.

In related developments, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has announced that his ministry will initiate legal actions against French President Emmanuel Macron. This decision follows France's ban on Israeli companies from participating in an upcoming military naval trade show.

On another front, the Israeli military reported conducting "targeted activity" against Hezbollah infrastructures in southern Lebanon amid continuous aerial conflicts. The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes against numerous militant targets, including a missile launcher used in an attack on Western Galilee earlier on Sunday.

The situation in Gaza has escalated as well. Following Israeli airstrikes in Beit Lahiya on Saturday night, the Gaza Health Ministry reported at least 87 fatalities and 40 injuries. The Israeli military is currently investigating the incident. The attacks have intensified in northern Gaza as part of efforts to prevent Hamas from regrouping, leading to what the U.N. Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, described as an intensifying nightmare.

Adding to the complexity, the Israeli Defense Forces successfully targeted Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Rafah. Israeli Col. Sivan Bloch described the encounter as a result of professional soldiering rather than luck. Bloch detailed the events leading up to Sinwar's death, highlighting the vigilance and tracking skills of the soldiers involved. The discovery was initially doubted but soon confirmed beyond any doubt.

The situation remains highly volatile, with multiple fronts and international implications contributing to the ongoing conflict.
