### Kylian Mbappé Responds to Swedish Media's Rape Allegations as "Totally False"

Kylian Mbappé's representative has strongly refuted recent claims made by the Swedish press, labeling allegations against the French soccer star as "totally false and irresponsible." Multiple Swedish sources, including SVT and Expressen, claimed that Mbappé is "suspected on reasonable grounds of rape" following a night out in Stockholm on October 10.

The Swedish police explained that such a level of suspicion indicates specific circumstances that suggest the individual may have committed the act. In response to media reports of a suspected rape in Stockholm, Swedish prosecutors confirmed that a criminal report had been filed. However, their press release did not name any individuals involved, and they withheld further details when approached by CNN.

The 25-year-old athlete, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), dismissed these allegations as "FAKE NEWS" after a French media outlet, RMC Sport, echoed similar claims. RMC Sport has since removed its social media post. Mbappé's representative, speaking through a public relations firm, condemned the spreading of these accusations by Swedish media Aftonbladet and Expressen.

“These accusations are totally false and irresponsible, and their spread is unacceptable. Kylian Mbappé will not tolerate under any circumstances that his integrity, reputation, and honor be tarnished by unfounded insinuations,” the representative stated. He further asserted that all necessary legal actions would be pursued to counter the defamatory rumors and the moral harassment Mbappé endures.

Mbappé’s lawyer, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, appeared on French television network TF1 to publicly defend her client. She described the allegations as a "slanderous denunciation" and noted that Mbappé remained "absolutely calm" while attending training on Tuesday. According to her, the French star is baffled by the media uproar and cannot fathom what accusations could be imputed to him.

"We're talking about a complaint, a complaint submitted - but at this time, we don't know against whom. A complaint does not make the truth," Canu-Bernard added.

Mbappé had reportedly spent October 12 and 13 in Stockholm, as per AFP reports. CNN has reached out to his club, Real Madrid, for further comments.
