### Kiyan Anthony's Surprise Commitment Party to Syracuse University

In a memorable celebration in Brooklyn's Red Hook district, Kiyan Anthony, son of Syracuse basketball legend Carmelo Anthony, made his college basketball choice known. Although his decision had already been announced on his father’s "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast earlier, Kiyan remained in the dark about the surprise awaiting him at his after-party.

Kiyan’s arrival at 6:15 p.m. saw him greeted by friends and family. With his parents Carmelo and La La Anthony by his side, he thanked everyone for their support and disclosed his choice of Syracuse University. As the crowd erupted, the black curtains were drawn back to reveal a second room lavishly decorated in Syracuse colors, complete with a Syracuse banner, balloons, and Carmelo's No. 15 jersey.

The festivities were held in a renovated warehouse with stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline. Syracuse touches were everywhere—from pillows to dessert trays featuring cookies with Syracuse's block S and mascot, Otto the Orange.

A striking five-tiered cake depicted Kiyan's journey with his parents, complete with Syracuse memorabilia and topped with a large blue 'K' for Kiyan. The gathering included family, close friends, and a few notable guests like former NBA players Rudy Gay, Kyle O'Quinn, and renowned New York rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.

Carmelo, decked out in a black leather jacket and Syracuse hat, expressed emotional gratitude for his son's decision to follow in his footsteps. He acknowledged the challenges Kiyan would face but expressed confidence in his potential to revive Syracuse's basketball prestige.

As the night progressed, guests enjoyed a buffet curated by Carmelo’s chef, Nikki Blake, which featured Kiyan's favorites like Buffalo wings, sliders, and an array of other dishes. The atmosphere, filled with music and confetti, resembled a joyous family gathering rather than a star-studded celebrity event.

Kiyan, wearing beige slacks and a diamond-studded "KIY" necklace, mingled with guests, thanking them personally. The intimate and jubilant evening was a poignant bridge between the past and future of Syracuse basketball, leaving everyone with the conviction that the Anthony legacy at Syracuse is truly "lit."
