### Jimmy Kimmel's Insightful Advice to Trump and Vance on Fact-Checking
In a recent episode of his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel offered straightforward advice to Donald Trump and JD Vance concerning the constant fact-checking during their debates and interviews. Kimmel suggested that incorporating truthful statements into their speeches would eliminate the need for fact-checkers altogether. This commentary came at the conclusion of a segment in which Kimmel reviewed the Vice Presidential debate that took place on Tuesday.
Reflecting on the debate, Kimmel noted the lack of a decisive winner, contrasting it with previous encounters. He praised JD Vance's demeanor, describing him as polite and polished and even acknowledging his attempts at humor, though Kimmel found some of his statements laughably inaccurate. For instance, Vance's assertion that Trump "peacefully handed over power" was met with sarcasm. Kimmel also ridiculed Vance for claiming that Trump had saved Obamacare, likening such a falsehood to calling Trump the first black President.
Kimmel criticized Vance's proposal to address school shootings by effectively transforming schools into highly secure facilities. Despite these criticisms, he acknowledged that the debate was relatively civil, aside from the numerous untruths.
Furthermore, Kimmel highlighted a post-debate interaction between Vance and his opponent Walz, noting their amicable conversation. This, he argued, was a stark contrast to Donald Trump's style and suggested that such friendly exchanges could help bridge political divides.
Turning his attention to the reaction from Republicans, Kimmel mentioned that Trump himself was pleased with Vance's performance. Some speculate that this could motivate Trump to participate in future debates. However, as of now, Trump has not only declined to engage in another debate with Kamala Harris but also withdrawn from an interview with '60 Minutes,' allegedly due to concerns about live fact-checking.
Kimmel humorously concluded that avoiding fact-checking would be simple if politicians included facts in their statements, suggesting that the term "fact-checking" might as well be renamed "Bulls- patrol." His monologue served as a sharp yet entertaining critique of the current political discourse.
