In a social media outburst, renowned musician Jack White lashed out at former President Donald J. Trump's deputy director of communications, Margo Martin, after she featured the White Stripes' iconic 2003 song "Seven Nation Army" in a now-deleted video posted on X. White, known for his vocal opposition to Trump and his policies, took to Instagram to express his anger, stating, "Oh....Don't even think about using my music you fascists. Lawsuit coming from my lawyers about this."
White did not limit his criticism to Martin only, but also directed a scathing message towards the Republican presidential candidate and a member of his campaign staff. This rebuke was triggered by an incident at Arlington National Cemetery, where, according to the Army's public affairs office, a member of the campaign staff had allegedly "pushed aside" an employee during a wreath-laying ceremony earlier this week.
Expressing his anger towards the presidential candidate, White continued, "And as long as I'm here, a double f**k you DonOLD for insulting our nation's veterans at Arlington you scum. You should lose every military family's vote immediately from that if ANYTHING makes sense anymore."
This isn't the first time White has spoken out against the usage of his music in Trump-supporting media. The musician has previously sold "Icky Trump" t-shirts, openly condemning the former president's ideologies. White has also criticized entrepreneur Elon Musk for allowing Trump back on X and has called out other celebrities for associating themselves with the former president.
As the tensions rise between the musician and the Trump camp, it remains to be seen how White's threats of a lawsuit will progress and whether his outspoken criticisms will have an impact on the upcoming election.
