### Israeli Defense Forces Intensify Operations Against Hezbollah and Hamas

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have stepped up their aggressive air and ground campaigns against Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This surge in military activity follows the anniversary of Hamas' Oct. 7 assault and occurs amidst Israeli leaders' deliberations on responding to Iran's latest ballistic missile attack.

A contingent of 30 trucks laden with flour and food entered Gaza on Monday, as coordinated by COGAT, the Israeli agency responsible for logistical operations within the Gaza Strip. This humanitarian aid was designated for northern Gaza. However, the World Food Programme has noted that the aid has not yet reached the intended recipients.

COGAT emphasized that Israel is not blocking the entry of humanitarian supplies, particularly food, into Gaza. In response to inquiries from ABC News, COGAT reiterated their position through a statement, affirming their commitment to allowing aid into the region.

The IDF announced on Monday the death of Samer Abu Daqqa, the head of Hamas' Aerial Unit. According to the IDF, Abu Daqqa was killed during an airstrike in September, though the location of the strike was not disclosed.

In a separate incident, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed allegations that the IDF had deliberately targeted members of the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Several members of UNIFIL were injured in recent airstrikes. Netanyahu refuted the claims, asserting that Israel had repeatedly requested UNIFIL to vacate the combat zone near the Israel-Lebanon border. He expressed regret over any harm caused to UNIFIL personnel and reiterated that the IDF is making every effort to prevent such incidents.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported on Monday that 54 people have been killed and 258 injured in Lebanon over the past 24 hours due to the intensified Israeli strikes. Since mid-September, the total number of casualties stands at 2,309 killed and 10,782 wounded according to official records. Over the past 48 hours, the Lebanese Prime Minister's Office documented 200 airstrikes and shellings in various regions across Lebanon.

The IDF disclosed on Monday that they have discovered an underground compound in southern Lebanon. This facility contained a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles, which were reportedly prepared for an incursion into Israel.
