**Iran Readies Military Strike Against Israel Following Supreme National Security Council's Decision**

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has given the green light for a military attack against Israel, as stated by Esmail Kowsari, a parliament member and former general of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The move aims to escalate Iran's response to recent tensions significantly, with Kowsari claiming that this response would overshadow the missile barrage launched on October 1, where Iran fired nearly 200 missiles at Israeli targets.

Kowsari emphasized that despite the reservations of certain government officials regarding retaliation, the SNSC holds the ultimate authority. "Almost unanimously, or rather all members of the SNSC have agreed on a military response by Iran to Israel," Kowsari said in an interview on a Tehran-based website.

On October 1, Iran executed its most extensive direct missile strike to date, dubbed Operation True Promise 2, unleashing over 180 ballistic missiles in a dual-wave attack. The operation was framed by Iranian officials as retribution for the assassinations of key allies, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah's Hassan Nasrallah, and Iranian General Abbas Nilforoushan. Although Israeli officials claimed to intercept most of the missiles, they reported minimal damage to infrastructure.

In retaliation, Israel conducted airstrikes on October 26, targeting Iranian missile facilities and air defense systems, leading to the deaths of four Iranian soldiers and one civilian, according to Iranian reports.

Kowsari noted that the precise details of Iran's planned military action—its timing, location, and objectives—are currently under deliberation by planners. He also dismissed speculations posited by CNN about an imminent strike before the U.S. elections as unfounded.

He further elaborated on the cooperation between Iran's military and regional resistance groups, indicating that these groups might coordinate with Iranian forces in the lead-up to the attack. "Members of the Resistance Front may have input or suggestions before the operation, and this will be considered before the final decision. Therefore, Iran's military response to the Zionist regime, in coordination with the resistance forces, is certain, and we will definitely take action," he affirmed.

The Resistance Front includes a coalition of militant groups supported by Iran, such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Houthis in Yemen, and Iraqi Shiite militias.
