In a recent speech, President Ebrahim Raisi of Iran chose not to address the Israeli missile strike that targeted the Isfahan region earlier the same day. Instead, Raisi justified Iran's own offensive attacks, highlighting the success of "Operation True Promise."

"Operation True Promise led to authority, unity, and cohesion in the country," Raisi stated during his speech, as translated by Iran International English. He further emphasized that all political groups and factions in Iran believed the response was necessary and brought honor to the country.

Operation True Promise, the code name for Iran's recent drone missile and drone launch against Israel, was carried out in response to an alleged strike on Iran's embassy compound in Syria on April 1. The attack resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, including two Iranian generals. This marked the first-ever direct military attack by Iran on Israel.

However, Israel, with assistance from the United States, the United Kingdom, neighboring Jordan, and other nations, managed to successfully intercept nearly every missile and drone launched by Iran. Israel boasted a remarkable 99% success rate, largely due to the effectiveness of its Iron Dome and David's Sling defense systems.

Following the Iranian launch, Raisi characterized it as a limited attack. However, he warned that if provoked to carry out a larger attack, there would be severe consequences for the "Zionist regime," as reported by the official IRNA news agency.

This decision by the Iranian supreme leader to disregard the Israeli retaliatory strike highlights a significant shift from the previous rhetoric and reveals a significant gap between Iran's prior threats and its current disposition.
