**Iran's Supreme Leader Calls for Measured Response to Israeli Attacks**

In his first public address on the matter, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, responded to Israel's latest attack by urging a balanced approach. "The evil actions of the Israeli regime two nights ago should neither be exaggerated nor downplayed," Khamenei emphasized during his speech on Sunday. His comments suggest that Iran is treading carefully in its reaction to the Israeli assault.

Khamenei refrained from calling for immediate retaliation, instead advocating for strategic disruption of what he described as Israel’s miscalculations. He stressed the importance of demonstrating Iran's strength and resolve, particularly emphasizing the role of the nation's youth. "It is essential to make them understand the strength, will, and initiative of the Iranian nation and its youth," he stated.

Iran's military has indicated that maintaining ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon takes precedence over any retaliatory moves, although officials assert their right to respond when deemed appropriate. Khamenei highlighted that it is up to Iranian authorities to decide the best course of action to convey the nation's power and will to Israel.

In the United States, the attacks have elicited reactions from former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris at their respective rallies. Trump criticized Harris for attending an event with Beyoncé in Texas, claiming, "Israel is attacking - we've got a war going on and she's out partying." In contrast, Harris emphasized that the United States strongly opposes Iran’s actions that pose a regional threat, reasserting the country’s commitment to defending Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza on Saturday night resulted in the deaths of at least 22 people, predominantly women and children, according to Palestinian officials. The strikes targeted the northern town of Beit Lahiya, already heavily impacted by ongoing offensives. Alongside the fatalities, 15 more individuals were reported as wounded, with numbers potentially rising.

The Israeli military defended its operations, claiming a precise strike on militants in Beit Lahiya and challenging the casualty figures provided by Palestinian sources. This latest attack is part of a broader offensive that began on October 6, aiming at Hamas militants believed to be regrouping in the area, leading to significant loss of lives and mass displacement.

Humanitarian organizations have raised alarms over the catastrophic conditions in northern Gaza, highlighting severe restrictions on essential supplies and overwhelmed hospitals. The International Committee of the Red Cross described the situation as dire, with civilians unable to move or access basic medical care amidst the devastation.
