**Several Interstate 40 Shootings Leave One Injured in Raleigh, N.C.**

RALEIGH, N.C. (WBTV) - A spate of shootings targeting vehicles on Interstate 40 has left at least one person injured, according to the Raleigh Police Department. The incidents began on Monday, Nov. 4, near the Chapel Hill Road exit.

In the first reported shooting early Monday morning, officers found a woman who had been shot in the leg. Shortly thereafter, a second shooting was reported near the Buck Jones Road exit, but no injuries were reported in that incident.

The alarming trend continued early Wednesday morning with four additional shootings in the same general area around the Chapel Road exit. Police have indicated that they believe some of the shootings are connected and that a handgun was used in the attacks.

In response to the ongoing threat, the police have ramped up their presence on the interstate and surrounding areas. "We're going to be out here until we find who is responsible for this incident," Deputy Chief Rico Boyce stated during a press conference.

Authorities are urging anyone with dashcam footage or those who have noticed any suspicious activity to come forward and assist with the investigation.
