After an intense 47-day election process, India's lower house of Parliament, the Lok Sabha, has concluded its voting. With almost a billion registered voters spread across the country, from the Himalayas to the Indian Ocean islands, the election has been hailed as the largest electoral exercise ever witnessed on the planet.

Election officials went to great lengths, traveling by foot, horseback, and even helicopter, to ensure that votes were collected from even the most remote corners of the nation. S Jaishankar, India's top diplomat, described it as a remarkable feat of logistical planning and execution.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who have been in power for the past decade, are seeking a third term. They are hoping for an even stronger mandate than their extraordinary performance in 2019 when they secured 303 out of 543 seats, comfortably surpassing the minimum 272 seats required to form a government.

The ruling party is particularly focused on maintaining its stronghold in the northern regions and expanding its influence in the east and south. They have campaigned extensively, highlighting their accomplishments and promising continued progress for the nation.

Now, with voting concluded, all eyes are on the announcement of the results, which are set to be declared on Tuesday. The outcome of this election will shape the future of India's political landscape and determine the composition of the new Parliament.

Indian citizens eagerly await the results, as they look forward to a new Parliament that will steer the country's course for the upcoming term.
