In a determined effort to cripple terror infrastructure in the region, IDF (Israel Defense Forces) troops have initiated targeted raids deep into the eastern part of Rafah, according to an official IDF statement released on Saturday.
The 401st Brigade's combat team conducted the extensive operations, specifically focusing on buildings and infrastructure utilized by Hamas to launch attacks on IDF troops. The intense fighting resulted in the elimination of approximately 50 Hamas fighters, dealing a significant blow to the extremist group.
The IDF has also undertaken extensive mapping and exploration of dozens of tunnel shafts, intending to prepare for their destruction. Furthermore, hundreds of pieces of terror infrastructure, including weapons production sites and rocket launching sites, have been successfully destroyed during the raids.
Earlier on Saturday, the IDF had announced further success in Rafah as the Givati Brigade reported eliminating over 80 terrorists during their recent operational activities in the area. As a result of their efforts, the Givati Brigade has seized a vast array of weapons, including rifles, grenades, ammunition, heavy machine guns, and anti-aircraft weapons.
Despite these significant military operations, various international actors have expressed concerns over the situation in Rafah, particularly due to the substantial influx of Gaza's refugees into the area. Such concerns have led to attempts to dissuade Israel from launching the invasion.
The IDF remains undeterred in their mission to neutralize terror threats, ensuring the safety and security of Israeli citizens and soldiers alike. The relentless efforts of the Givati Brigade and the 401st Brigade's combat team demonstrate the IDF's commitment to dismantling terror infrastructure and preventing further attacks on their forces.
