In a new development, Fox News Digital has obtained and verified an email in which Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, informed his business associates in late 2013 about an alleged request from a top Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader. The email reveals that Hunter Biden was asked to travel to China to discuss future "business opportunities." The authenticity of the email has been confirmed by Fox News Digital.
The email exchange took place during a six-day trip around Asia that Hunter Biden accompanied his father on in December 2013. While in Beijing, Hunter introduced his father to one of his Chinese business associates, who was accompanied by another associate, in the hotel lobby where they were staying.
During the China leg of the trip, Hunter Biden attended several events with his father, including a lunch attended by influential CCP leaders. In the email, Hunter Biden mentioned a former Governor of Hong Kong, C.H. Tung, who allegedly wanted him to visit Hong Kong to discuss business opportunities. Tung, a billionaire, was also confirmed as a former business associate of Hunter Biden.
However, it remains unclear whether Hunter Biden took up Tung's alleged offer to visit Hong Kong for business discussions. Multiple inquiries to Biden's lawyer, Tung, and other relevant parties have gone unanswered, according to Fox News Digital.
This email is not the only instance in which Tung's name has appeared in Hunter Biden's emails. In July 2014, an email exchange revealed that James Bulger, chairman of Boston-based Thornton Group LLC, requested Hunter Biden's assistance in introducing their Chinese business associates to Tung. The purpose of the introduction was to discuss "BHR investment targets" and "fundraising."
Biden responded that he was willing to fulfill the request, but couldn't recall the names of the gentlemen who sat next to him at the dinner where he allegedly met Tung in 2013. He suggested that the team draft an email in Mandarin and English for his approval.
C.H. Tung, who has strong connections within Washington D.C., including President Biden's top climate diplomat John Podesta, has played a significant role in promoting closer ties between China and the United States through organizations like the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation.
The CPPCC, of which Tung was the former vice chairman, is considered a "central part" of China's United Front system, which works to align non-Communist Party members with the interests of the CCP.
It is important to note that neither Hunter Biden's attorney, Jonathan Li, nor the White House have responded to requests for comments on these allegations.
The revelations from these emails add to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Hunter Biden's business dealings, particularly with foreign entities, and raise further questions about potential conflicts of interest.
