In a tragic turn of events, the Lake County Coroner's Office has positively identified a human arm discovered on the Waukegan Municipal Beach in Illinois as belonging to Sade Robinson, a 19-year-old woman from Milwaukee. Robinson had been dismembered after going on a date with the man who is now the suspected killer.
The arm, discovered by a beachgoer on May 11, was confirmed to be Robinson's through DNA analysis, according to the coroner. The beach, located approximately 50 miles from Milwaukee, now connects to the devastating timeline of events that unfolded in this chilling crime.
Upon receiving the confirmation, Robinson's family was notified on Tuesday. Coroner Jennifer Banek expressed her condolences on behalf of the Lake County Coroner's Office, acknowledging the immense loss that Robinson's family and friends are enduring.
Representing the family, attorney Verona Swanigan issued a statement in which Robinson's mother, Sheena Scarbrough, expressed her devastation and anguish at the horrifying murder of her daughter. Scarbrough now grapples with the accumulating news as she awaits closure and the opportunity to bring her daughter's belongings back home.
The discovery of the arm follows the earlier findings of additional remains, including a torso, another arm, a severed right leg, and a foot with pink nail polish. These body parts had been found in various locations, raising the chilling question of the whereabouts of Robinson's head and the rest of her body.
Maxwell Anderson, a 33-year-old man from Milwaukee, has since been apprehended and charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson in connection to Robinson's tragic slaying. Authorities revealed that Robinson and Anderson went on a date on April 1, making this horrifying crime even more unfathomable.
Alleged video footage from the area where the severed leg was found reportedly captures a "human figure" descending the bluff towards the beach. Additionally, footage from a bus and a convenience store supposedly shows a man walking away from a burning vehicle. A witness has also come forward, claiming to have seen a man exiting Robinson's car from the driver's side and tossing a lit lighter inside.
Currently, Anderson has pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $5 million bail. Swanigan, speaking on behalf of Robinson's family, expressed their desire for Anderson to confess to the crime. Scarbrough pleaded for closure, urging law enforcement or Anderson's family to compel him to reveal the location of her daughter's remains.
As the investigation continues, the heart-wrenching pain of Robinson's family persists, as they anxiously await answers and the opportunity to bid a final farewell to their beloved daughter. The search for justice and closure in this horrific crime remains ongoing.
