**Human Rights Campaign Unveils "These Colors Don't Run" Theme for Pride 2025 Amidst Record Membership Growth**
In a bold display of resilience and unity, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the United States, has announced its Pride 2025 theme, "These Colors Don't Run." As the organization faces unparalleled challenges from both federal and state political arenas, it proudly enters Pride Month stronger than ever, with a record 3.6 million members and supporters.
This year's theme and activities come at a significant time, as HRC reports widespread engagement from its base. In a mere 100 days of the second Trump administration, supporters have carried out an astonishing 350,000 actions, including outreach to Congress, participation in rallies, and more, showcasing their unwavering commitment to the cause.
HRC President Kelley Robinson emphasized this moment of visibility and strength, noting that the Pride flag symbolizes generations of struggle and defiance. With WorldPride taking place in Washington, D.C., the organization's presence is crucial. Robinson underscored that the 3.6 million-strong membership base is not just a statistic but a powerful movement committed to a safer and freer future for all LGBTQ+ individuals.
The Pride Month festivities will see HRC participating in over 150 events nationwide, marking a decade since achieving nationwide marriage equality. These events will coincide with HRC’s 5th annual Membership Appreciation Day on June 1st, kicking off pride season with gratitude and celebration.
Key events include the "Pride Rising" activation on May 30th at 7:00 PM, aimed at reinvigorating young people's interest in politics. This event will feature HRC Senior Manager of Campaigns & Communications Sofia Rivera Negron and is hosted in partnership with the D.C. Mayor's Office of LGBTQ Affairs, OutVote, the Born This Way Foundation, and Voters of Tomorrow.
Furthermore, the end of the U.S. Supreme Court term, which falls during Pride Month, often sees decisions impacting LGBTQ+ individuals. This year, the HRC and other organizations are bracing for the significant case of US v. Skrmetti, which will address the constitutionality of Tennessee's ban on transgender health care. Rallies will be organized in Washington, D.C., New York City, and other major cities following the court’s decision.
In announcing these initiatives and events, the HRC reiterates its stance: "These colors don't run." The organization remains steadfast in its mission to build a future where every LGBTQ+ person can live boldly, safely, and freely.
