Zamoi Murrell, a current student, voiced his dissatisfaction with the granting of degrees based solely on fame and wealth, saying, "I don't think you should get a degree just because you have a name or because you're giving money to an organization." Murrell emphasized the hard work and financial sacrifices that Howard students put into earning their academic degrees.

As the news of the revocation spreads, more celebrities and organizations have joined the chorus of condemnation against Combs. Most recently, the father of the late Kim Porter, Combs' former partner, spoke out against him.
