**Harris Takes Narrow Lead Over Trump in Final Week Before Election Day**
As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Vice President Kamala Harris holds a slight edge over former President Donald Trump in key battleground states, according to a new national poll. The tightly contested race has both candidates making last-minute efforts to sway voters.
A Morning Consult poll released on Tuesday indicates that Harris leads Trump by three percentage points, with Harris securing 50% of the vote compared to Trump’s 47%. The survey, conducted from October 25 to 27, included 8,807 likely voters and has a margin of error of 1 percentage point.
As part of their final campaign strategies, Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania, while Harris will address supporters at a rally in Washington, D.C. The poll's release follows a similar survey from last week that showed Harris with a marginally larger lead.
Despite the close numbers, 45% of the participants reported hearing positive news about Harris recently, maintaining her campaign’s favorable momentum. In contrast, 49% stated they had heard negative information about Trump.
On policy issues, the poll highlighted that Republicans are more trusted by voters on the economy, national security, crime, and immigration. However, Democrats maintain an advantage on matters related to health care, climate change, and abortion.
According to the Pew Research Center, when a poll’s leading margin is within the margin of error, it is considered a statistical tie. This underscores the importance of each candidate’s final efforts as Election Day approaches.
