In an exciting announcement on Monday, the Green Bay Packers revealed that Ed Policy, currently serving as the team's chief operating officer and general counsel, has been named the franchise's next chairman of the board, president, and CEO. This appointment will take effect when the current president, Mark Murphy, officially retires in 2025.

The decision was unanimously approved by the Packers' board of directors, an entity responsible for governing the team president and CEO. Policy, who has been with the Packers for the past 12 seasons, expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "This is the absolute best job in sports. As the Packers' general counsel, Policy has been instrumental in representing the team in legal matters at the league level. Policy will spend the next year transitioning into the role of president and CEO, as Murphy is set to retire after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70 next summer. Furthermore, his connection to football runs deep as the son of former San Francisco 49ers executive Carmen Policy, who played a significant role in leading the team to multiple championships during their dynasty years in the 1980s and '90s.
