On Friday, a grass fire broke out in Pueblo, Colorado, leading to evacuation orders as the blaze continued to grow. The fire, named the "Vision Hills Fire," ignited in the morning on the northeast side of the city.

According to an update provided by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office at approximately 12:30 p.m., multiple fire crews were dispatched to the scene near Jerry Murphy Rd and Vision Hills Parkway. Thankfully, no structures were reported to be in immediate danger.

Evacuation orders were issued around 1:05 p.m. for residents residing a half mile north of 1945 Overton Rd. Recognizing the need for support, the sheriff's office promptly set up a reception center at the Pueblo County Parks Office at 1650 Cooper Place by 1:25 p.m., with access available via Roselawn Road.

Considering the gravity of the situation, the sheriff's office requested the public to refrain from flying drones in the area, as such activities could hinder firefighting efforts. By 1:50 p.m., approximately 25 homes had been evacuated for safety.

As the afternoon progressed, fire crews demonstrated commendable progress in containing the grass fire. The sheriff's office reported around 3:30 p.m. that the fire had been successfully contained by approximately 20 percent.

Efforts to combat the "Vision Hills Fire" are ongoing, with fire crews working tirelessly to fully extinguish the blaze and ensure the continued safety of affected residents and surrounding areas.
