**Governor Tim Walz Charms Media Circuit with National TV Appearances and Podcast Sessions**

Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, currently running as the vice-presidential candidate alongside Kamala Harris, embarked on a high-profile tour of national media outlets on Monday. Featuring on ABC’s “The View” and the SmartLess podcast, Walz also taped an episode with Jon Stewart set to air on "The Daily Show" at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.

During his lighthearted appearance on "The View," Walz was showered with gifts and warm praises. The hosts presented him with a Buffalo plaid flannel shirt emblazoned with “Dad in plaid” on the back, which he received with great delight, calling it the best gift he has ever received. Ana Navarro encouraged him to wear it on the show again after winning the election with Harris.

On the SmartLess podcast, co-hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes expressed admiration for Walz’s everyman appeal. Arnett commended his authenticity, and Bateman inquired about the "big give" – an olive branch the Harris-Walz administration might offer their opponents. Walz suggested that including a Republican in the cabinet, mentioning former Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona and Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma as ethical and honorable candidates, could foster unity.

Walz also shared personal tidbits on the podcast, discussing his routine of running 5K five times a week at nine-minute miles and hinting at his snack preference for beef jerky, much to the chagrin of his pescatarian daughter, Hope Walz. The hosts showed interest in his daily habits, including his sleep schedule and fitness, revealing a more relatable side of the candidate.

Hot-button issues like gun control and the economy were covered on "The View." Walz reiterated his stance on gun control, having progressed from an "A" rating with the NRA to an "F." He emphasized the importance of child safety over unrestricted gun rights, referencing the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre as a transformative moment in his views on assault rifles. He also criticized former President Donald Trump's economic policies, contrasting them with the Harris-Walz focus on homeownership assistance.

The SmartLess episode, recorded two weeks prior, provided another platform for Walz to discuss pressing topics like women's health care and democracy protection, emphasizing these as top priorities in the campaign. He shared his awe-struck experience running around the Central Park reservoir, highlighting his limited time in New York City.

Walz’s media appearances come amidst a busy campaign schedule for other political figures. JD Vance, opposing GOP vice-presidential candidate, has stops in Arizona and Nevada, while former President Trump held a rally in Greenville, N.C., aligning with faith leaders.

Reflecting on his swift integration into the campaign, Walz described how his clothes were packed by campaign staff and he was swiftly taken to Philadelphia by private plane upon being chosen as Harris’s running mate. He even had a stage rehearsal set up in a locker room to prepare for his debut speech.

Concluding his media tour, Walz received an offer from Arnett and Bateman to play sand green golf in his native Nebraska post-election, underscoring the personal connections he built throughout his media engagements.
