### GOP Urges Pennsylvania Supreme Court to Exclude Undated and Misdated Mail Ballots

Republicans have intensified their push to ensure that undated and misdated mail ballots are excluded from the final count in Pennsylvania's upcoming election. The Republican National Committee and the Pennsylvania GOP filed a motion Thursday with the state's Supreme Court, asking it to overrule a recent decision by the Commonwealth Court that permitted the counting of 69 such ballots in a special state House election.

The Commonwealth Court ruling, which passed with a 3-2 vote, indicated that these 69 ballots, despite being misdated or undated, should still be counted. GOP lawyers expressed concern in their motion that this ruling might set a precedent for election boards throughout Pennsylvania, potentially leading them to count similar ballots in critical races, including the 2024 presidential and Senate elections.

"A county board of elections, or multiple county boards of elections...may now seek to change the result of a race in the 2024 General Election- such as the nationwide race for President or control of the U.S. Senate-under the majority's order," the GOP attorneys argued. "That possibility alone warrants extraordinary relief."

Earlier decisions by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court had declined to address the issue of undated ballots, with a 6-1 vote earlier this month refusing to rule ahead of the election. The debate is polarized, as Democrats in Pennsylvania tend to vote by mail more frequently than Republicans, meaning that invalidating undated ballots could disproportionately impede Democratic votes.

In a related legal matter, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito rejected a last-minute effort by independent presidential hopeful Cornel West to notify Pennsylvania voters of his candidacy. West's request, which sought to mandate polling places to post signs informing voters they could write him in, was thwarted by Alito without comment and without referring the issue to the full court. This issue had been brought forth by a Republican election lawyer linked to prominent Trump supporter, Elon Musk.

Amidst the intense election preparations, former President Donald Trump has yet to schedule any joint campaign appearances with Nikki Haley, his former UN ambassador and the last Republican candidate to drop out of the primaries. Although their teams remain in contact and Haley has publicly supported Trump's campaign, Trump has opted not to bring her into the spotlight for now. In a recent statement, Trump acknowledged Haley's assistance but emphasized his decisive primary victory over her.

Nevertheless, Trump's campaign maintains it is building a diverse coalition to make America great again. Campaign officials highlighted endorsements from figures like Nikki Haley, RFK Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard. Despite not having spoken to Trump since June, Haley reiterated her ongoing support for his campaign, affirming that there is no bad blood between them and stating her readiness to assist whenever needed.
