Good Samaritan Attorney Fatally Shot at Local McDonald's while Trying to De-escalate an Angry Customer

Houston, Texas - In a tragic incident that unfolded at a McDonald's restaurant, Jeffrey Limmer, a 46-year-old associate at Lewis Brisbois, was shot and killed after attempting to defuse a dispute between a customer and the fast-food chain's employees. The unidentified assailant is currently at large, and authorities are actively searching for him.
According to detectives investigating the incident, an angry customer became heated over a dispute regarding his order and demanded a refund from the employees. Limmer, a compassionate individual known for his willingness to help others, intervened in an effort to calm the situation. However, instead of diffusing the tension, the customer turned his aggression towards Limmer.
The altercation escalated quickly, moving outside the restaurant. Witnesses reported that Limmer pushed the customer to the ground in an attempt to protect himself and others. Tragically, the customer retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, firing a fatal shot at Limmer before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck, believed to be from the early 2000s.
Limmer's sister, Jennifer Thomas, spoke highly of her late brother, stating that she was not surprised by his actions during the tense encounter. She described him as someone who "always wanted to fight for the little guy," highlighting his innate desire to do good in the world.
