### Giuliani Denies Claims of Withholding Assets Amid Defamation Case
Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has vehemently denied accusations that he is obstructing the surrendering of his assets to two Georgia election workers whom he defamed. This defamation case has resulted in a $146 million damages order against Giuliani. On Thursday, he expressed his disdain for these claims as he entered Manhattan federal court for a hearing on the matter.
"These allegations are completely false," Giuliani remarked, rejecting claims that property subject to a forfeiture order was missing from his Manhattan apartment. "My apartment was full of belongings. Everything that needed to be there was there," Giuliani insisted, describing the accusations as blatant lies.
The defamation case dates back to the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, where Giuliani represented then-President-elect Donald Trump in efforts to overturn his electoral loss to President Joe Biden. Giuliani was found liable in a federal court in Washington, D.C., for making false claims that the two election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea Moss, had engaged in ballot fraud at a vote-counting site.
Adding to the tension, a lawyer representing the two women alleged that Giuliani recently drove to a Florida polling site in a Mercedes-Benz, a vehicle subject to forfeiture. This situation has spurred further scrutiny over Giuliani's compliance with the court orders.
Giuliani also expressed frustration over a judge’s order requiring him to appear in court in person on Thursday, describing it as "like a political persecution."
When asked about his communications with Trump following the most recent presidential election, Giuliani confirmed that he had spoken with him but declined to disclose any details of their conversation.
This is an ongoing story, and updates are expected as the situation develops.
