France, which is not a significant supplier of military equipment to Israel, sent arms valued at 30 million euros ($33 million) last year according to its defense ministry.

Speaking to France Inter radio, Macron reiterated France’s stance, stating, "The priority today is to get back to a political solution and halt the arms used to fight in Gaza. France doesn’t ship any." He further stressed the importance of preventing escalation, noting specifically that Lebanon should not suffer like Gaza.

Macron's statements coincide with Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot’s tour of the Middle East. Barrot's four-day visit, concluding in Israel on Monday, underscores Paris's intent to contribute constructively to diplomatic efforts in the region.

In a recent meeting at the Élysée Palace, Macron discussed the Israel-Gaza conflict and hostage situations with World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder. Macron emphasized the necessity of resolving the conflict and ensuring the safe return of hostages.

Moreover, in response to recent events, Macron condemned an Iranian attack on Israel and showcased France's commitment to Israel's security by mobilizing military resources in the Middle East.
