A 55-year-old resident of Jilin, identified as Cui, has been arrested in connection to the stabbing.

According to a police statement, the suspect allegedly bumped into one of the Americans while walking in the park. This encounter quickly escalated as he proceeded to stab the instructor and three other U.S. instructors. A Chinese passerby who tried to intervene was also injured in the attack.
