The Cook County prosecutors have charged Rhianni Davis, 30, with four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the horrific attack.

Forest Park police confirmed the charges against Davis, who is now in custody. The authorities are expected to reveal more details about the incident at a press briefing scheduled for Tuesday evening.

According to court records, Davis had no significant criminal history other than a previous guilty plea in a battery case with probation. Additionally, in 2020, Davis faced charges of disorderly conduct following looting and rioting in downtown Chicago. Davis pleaded guilty, served one day in jail, and paid a $100 fine.

It was revealed that Davis was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon in 2021, but the charges were later dismissed. Further information about Davis's motive or any possible connection to the victims has not yet been disclosed.

The victims have been identified as Adrian Collins, 60, who died from a gunshot wound to his abdomen, and Simeon Bihesi, 28, who died from multiple gunshots. The names of the remaining two victims have not yet been released. All four deaths have been ruled homicides.

Chicago Police took Davis into custody shortly after the incident on a CTA Pink Line train, where a weapon was recovered.

CTA President Dorval R. Carter Jr. expressed condolences to the families of the victims, calling the shooting a "heinous crime and tragedy." Carter assured the public that the incident appears to be an isolated incident, while reiterating the commitment to the safety and security of CTA riders and employees.

The Forest Park Mayor, Rory Hoskins, described the violence as an outlier, but emphasized the need for increased safety resources at the station, especially considering Forest Park's role as a major hub for two train lines.

Advocates for the homeless population pointed out the vulnerability of individuals who seek refuge on trains and called for a comprehensive approach to address the city's homelessness problem. They highlighted the need for increased funding for permanent housing, street outreach, and supportive services.

The shooting at the Forest Park Blue Line station marks the first multi-victim homicide on a CTA train in at least three decades, according to available city violence data. It is also the first fatal shooting on a CTA train or at a station this year.

While details about the incident remain scarce, the shocking incident has reignited concerns about safety and security on Chicago's public transit system and calls for further measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
