In a stunning turn of events, former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, has unleashed a scathing attack on wrestler Vinesh Phogat following her entry into politics. Singh alleges that Phogat cheated at the Olympics and accuses the Congress party of orchestrating a political conspiracy against him.

Singh's claims come in the wake of Phogat and fellow wrestler Bajrang Punia joining the Congress party in preparation for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls. The former BJP MP has long maintained that the 2023 protests by athletes were politically motivated and directed by the Congress, with whom he alleges a deep-rooted connection.

Asserting that his previous allegations have now been vindicated, Singh boldly declared, "The script was written by Congress, and it has been exposed at their party office." He firmly believes that accusations of sexual assault leveled against him earlier this year were part of a larger plot engineered by Congress and Bhupinder Hooda.

Expressing his deep disappointment, Singh accused Phogat and Punia of damaging the sport of wrestling and disrespecting fellow athletes, particularly female wrestlers. He questioned the legitimacy of Phogat's athletic achievements, raising concerns about her participation in multiple weight categories in a single day and the manipulation of trial processes.

Singh did not spare Punia from criticism either, alleging that the wrestler had participated in the Asian Games without completing the required trials. He further claimed that the Congress party was exploiting these athletes to further their political agenda, accusing them of using girls for politics and insulting women in the process.

Strongly denying the sexual assault allegations against him, Singh expressed confidence that the truth would eventually surface in court. "The reality is evident, and the people will decide," he proclaimed, optimistic about his eventual vindication.

In a turnaround, Singh also accused the Congress party of hypocrisy, pointing out their claims of respecting women while simultaneously disrespecting them. He emphatically stated, "I am not guilty of dishonoring daughters. If anyone is, it's Bhupinder Hooda, who wrote this script."

The entry of Phogat and Punia into politics has not only resurrected the political conspiracy allegations against Singh but has also intensified the already charged atmosphere preceding the Haryana Assembly elections. As the political drama unfolds, the sports fraternity eagerly awaits the impact of these developments on the wrestling landscape and the future of Indian athletes.
