In a recent interview, Bryan Lanza, a senior adviser to former President Trump's campaign, expressed his disappointment and frustration with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders for making comments about Vice President Kamala Harris during a town hall event. Lanza, who himself has a stepmother, found Sanders' remarks offensive and felt the need to defend the role of stepmothers.

During the interview on CNN, Lanza shared his personal experience of having a stepmother and the significant role she played in his life. He emphasized that without his stepmother, he wouldn't be where he is today and wouldn't be capable of engaging in meaningful conversations. Lanza stated, "I found that comment to be actually offensive. I'm disappointed in Sarah for saying that."

Lanza acknowledged that his defense of stepmothers may attract criticism from the campaign, but he stood firm in his belief that those who step into the role of a stepmother deserve recognition and respect. He added, "People who step into that role, it's usually a difficult dynamic. We should reward them, we should speak of them with a high tone."

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as the White House press secretary under the Trump administration, implied during the town hall that Vice President Harris, who doesn't have biological children but does have step-children, lacks something to keep her humble. Sanders shared that her own children serve as a constant reminder of what is important and keep her grounded. She stated, "My kids keep me humble. Unfortunately, Kamala Harris doesn't have anything keeping her humble."

Lanza's comments shed light on the importance of recognizing the valuable role stepmothers play in families and the challenges they often face. His disappointment in Governor Sanders' remarks highlights a broader conversation about the treatment and acknowledgment of step-parents in society.

While the criticism over Sanders' comments heats up, the discussion serves as a reminder that public figures should be mindful of the impact their words may have and consider the diverse familial dynamics that exist in today's society. The support and appreciation for step-parents, including those in prominent positions, can contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
