Former President Donald Trump is set to travel from a courtroom in New York to his lavish private club in Florida this weekend. There, he will mingle with potential vice presidential running mates and wealthy Republican donors at the Republican National Committee's spring donor retreat. The meetings are likely to serve as informal tryouts for a select group of politicians vying to join the Trump ticket.

Before heading to Florida, Trump will spend Thursday and Friday in court in lower Manhattan, where he faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in a political hush money case. Upon his return to Florida, the former president will headline the Republican National Committee's spring donor retreat, an annual weekend event that brings together influential donors and prominent GOP figures.

The guest list for the event includes several individuals who are reportedly being considered as potential vice presidential candidates for Trump's presumptive ticket. Among the "Special Guests" expected in Florida are Republican Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, J.D. Vance of Ohio, and Tim Scott of South Carolina. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, known for her staunch defense of Trump in Congress, are also on the list. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who recently faced controversy over a dog shooting incident, is expected to attend as well.

While Trump has not announced his running mate yet, he mentioned that he plans to reveal his choice closer to the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled to begin on July 15 in Milwaukee.

The events at the spring donor retreat will be held at both the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach and Trump's Mar-a-Lago club. The retreat will kick off on Friday with a reception at the Four Seasons, featuring House Speaker Mike Johnson, Rep. Elise Stefanik, and RNC co-chair Lara Trump, who is the wife of Trump's son, Eric Trump. A dinner later that evening will include speeches from Senators Marco Rubio and Tim Scott.

On Saturday, guests will gather at Mar-a-Lago for lunch, where Former President Trump will address the attendees. He will be joined by Reps. Byron Donalds of Florida and Wesley Hunt of Texas, as well as entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who was once Trump's primary opponent.

The Four Seasons dinner on Saturday night will be headlined by JD Vance, and will feature speeches from three prominent Republican Senate candidates: Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana, Dave McCormick, who is running against incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, and Bernie Moreno, who is challenging Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio.

While it has not been confirmed, it is speculated that potential running mates may take the opportunity to meet privately with Trump during the weekend events.

After the weekend in Florida, Trump is expected to return to the New York courtroom on Monday, where his trial will resume.
