In a shocking revelation, Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, former physician to ex-President Donald Trump, stated that the former president was struck by a bullet in his right ear during a rally in Pennsylvania. The incident took place on July 13, when a gunman opened fire at the event in Butler.

Jackson's statement came in the form of a memorandum addressed to concerned citizens of the United States, which was shared on social media. He expressed that he has been closely monitoring Trump's health following the assassination attempt, as the former president continues to recover from the gunshot wound. According to Jackson, Trump is doing extremely well in his rapid recovery.

The medical records from Butler Memorial Hospital, where Trump received treatment for a "gunshot wound to the right ear," further affirm Jackson's assessment. He firmly stated that there was no evidence to suggest anything other than a bullet caused the injury.

Jackson's memo appears to be a response to FBI Director Chris Wray's comments made during an oversight hearing. Wray had mentioned that Trump's ear was grazed by either shrapnel or a bullet, leading to some uncertainty. Trump criticized Wray's remarks on social media, claiming there was no doubt it was a bullet wound.

The FBI released a statement affirming that the shooting was indeed an attempted assassination of the former president and resulted in his injury, along with the death of one rally-goer and injuries to two others. The bureau's shooting reconstruction team is currently examining evidence from the scene, including bullet fragments.

Jackson, who served as the physician for Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Trump, was appointed as chief medical adviser and assistant to the president in January 2019. After retiring from the Navy in 2019, he was elected to Congress in 2020. However, in 2022, he was demoted from rear admiral to captain due to an investigation that revealed inappropriate conduct during his time with the White House Medical Unit.

It is important to note that Jackson's appointment as VA Secretary in 2018 was derailed due to allegations of misconduct, including excessive drinking on the job and overprescribing medications.

As the investigation into the rally shooting continues, with conflicting statements from officials, it remains to be seen how Congress will address the discrepancy between Wray's testimony and Jackson's assessment. The focus, however, remains on the well-being and recovery of former President Trump, who continues to mend from the bullet wound inflicted at the Pennsylvania rally.
