In an exclusive interview with "Fox & Friends Weekend," former President Donald Trump expressed his discontent with the guilty verdict handed to him in the New York criminal case. Trump deemed the trial as a dangerous weaponization of the justice system and voiced his belief that the Republican Party stood united against this perceived injustice.

A Manhattan jury found Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records, which led to his strong remarks during the interview. He referred to the trial as a "scam," claiming that people understand the alleged unfairness surrounding the case. Trump blamed the Justice Department and the FBI, suggesting that they were orchestrating this weaponization from Washington.

Hosted by Pete Hegseth, Will Cain, and Rachel Campos-Duffy, the interview explored the political landscape following Trump's conviction. A Daily Mail poll showed a 6-point increase in Trump's approval rating immediately after the verdict was announced, indicating some level of support for the former president.

Trump focused on the venue of the trial, expressing his desire to move it from deep blue Manhattan to a more favorable location. He also criticized Judge Juan Merchan, who has faced significant criticism among conservatives. Trump highlighted that such charges were often brought in areas where Republicans had little influence or support.

However, despite the conviction, Trump found a silver lining in his fundraising efforts. Following the guilty verdict, his fundraising page crashed due to the influx of record-setting donations for his campaign. This tremendous support reaffirmed his belief that his message resonated with many Americans.

Trump's legal team has vowed to appeal the conviction, escalating the case to the New York appeals court and potentially beyond. Additionally, recent polls indicate that Trump still holds leads over President Joe Biden in several key swing states, suggesting the presence of discontentment with the current administration.

As the legal battle continues and political dynamics evolve, Trump's criticism of the guilty verdict and his assertions of a weaponized justice system are likely to fuel debates and shape public opinion on both sides of the aisle.
