In a latest development surrounding the hush money case involving former President Donald Trump, he criticized Judge Juan Merchan for allegedly violating his constitutional right to free speech. Trump took to social media platform Truth Social to express his dissatisfaction with the judge, describing the court proceedings as a "kangaroo court" and demanding that Merchan recuse himself.

Prosecutors from the Manhattan district attorney's office have accused Trump of violating a gag order issued against him on multiple occasions. They argue that the former president attacked witnesses, prosecutors, court staff, and the judge's family in his posts. In response, they have requested that the judge impose a fine of $1,000 for each violation.

Trump's attorney, Todd Blanche, defended his client's posts by claiming they were in response to political attacks against the former president. He denied any willful violation of the gag order in any of the ten posts mentioned.

However, prosecutors disagreed with Blanche's argument, asserting that Trump's posts, despite their political nature, should still fall under the purview of the gag order. They also contested the notion that reposting accounts should exempt Trump from the restrictions.

During the hearing, Judge Merchan expressed skepticism towards Blanche's arguments, questioning their credibility. He reserved his decision on the alleged violations while witness testimony continued on Tuesday.

Throughout the case, Trump has consistently criticized Judge Merchan, branding him as "conflicted" and urging him to step aside. Despite these calls, Merchan has maintained his position, dismissing Trump's team's arguments as unsupported speculation.

The hush money case has garnered significant attention, with its implications potentially affecting Trump's political future. As arguments over the gag order violations continue, all eyes are on the courtroom, awaiting a decision from Judge Merchan.

It remains to be seen how the judge will rule on the alleged violations and the potential consequences they may have for the former president. As the case unfolds, both sides will continue to present their arguments, shaping the outcome of this highly publicized and contentious legal battle.
