In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, former President Donald Trump placed blame on Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for the second assassination attempt on his life over the weekend. Despite the motive of the gunmen remaining unclear, Trump suggested that the "rhetoric" from Harris and Biden led to the suspected shooter, Ryan Wesley Routh, taking action.

Speaking about the incident, Trump stated, "He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it." The former president expressed his belief that his political opponents' words were not only putting his life in danger but also damaging the well-being of the country, asserting, "Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country."

While the exact motives behind the attempted assassination are still unknown, the FBI is conducting a thorough investigation into Routh's background to determine any potential frustrations with Trump's stance on Ukraine, according to sources. The agency is treating the incident as an "attempted assassination," although it remains unclear whether Routh had specifically targeted Trump or if any shots were fired.

Ryan Wesley Routh appeared in a federal courtroom in West Palm Beach on Monday morning, where he faces charges related to firearms. The FBI, along with multiple sources, revealed that Secret Service agents confronted Routh after spotting his rifle near the fence line of the Trump International golf course. Agents fired at him in response.

Trump's comments place blame on the heightened political polarization and the use of "highly inflammatory language" by Democrats. Labeling his opponents as enemies and threats to the nation, the former president warned against the "enemy from within." However, Harris' campaign declined to comment on Trump's accusations.

The nature of Trump's remarks is a departure from his initial response following a previous assassination attempt earlier in the summer, where he called for unity and discouraged blame. Trump emphasized the importance of standing united as Americans and not allowing evil to prevail.

Although former President Trump's tone initially focused on unity and resilience after past incidents, his recent comments alleging Harris and Biden's rhetoric as a contributing factor to the assassination attempts have raised questions about his approach to political discourse.

As investigations into both incidents continue, President Biden has called for increased support and resources for the Secret Service, emphasizing the need to address their staffing requirements. Departing the White House, Biden encouraged Congress to respond to the agency's needs promptly.

While the motives behind the assassination attempts on former President Trump remain undisclosed, the politicization of the incidents underscores the ongoing challenges of a polarized political environment. Authorities will carefully investigate the backgrounds and intentions of the individuals involved to gain a comprehensive understanding of these unsettling events.
