In a warm reunion at Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Friday. The event marked their first meeting since President Joe Biden took office, signaling a renewed engagement between the two nations.

Welcoming the Netanyahus with open arms, Trump exchanged kisses with Sara Netanyahu while embracing the Israeli leader. During the encounter, Trump showed Netanyahu the bullet wound on his ear, reminding him of the assassination attempt he survived just weeks ago in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The close relationship between Trump and Netanyahu, which was strained after the prime minister congratulated Biden on his victory, seemed to be on the path of reconciliation. Netanyahu publicly acknowledged Trump's leadership in brokering the historic Abraham Accords, expressing gratitude for his support of Israel.

Inside Mar-a-Lago, Trump reiterated his concerns about the state of affairs in the Middle East, suggesting that if he were to win another term in office, he would swiftly address the region's pressing issues. He warned that without proper leadership, there is a risk of major conflicts, including the possibility of a Third World War.

Netanyahu's visit to Washington earlier in the week did not involve meetings with President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris. Both leaders, however, did meet with him separately at the White House on Wednesday. During their meeting, Biden expressed the importance of reaching a ceasefire and releasing hostages in regard to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Harris, after attending a sorority event instead of Netanyahu's congressional speech, voiced her concerns about the civilian casualties in Gaza. While reaffirming her unwavering support for Israel, she emphasized the need to address the devastating scenes of suffering and displacement in the region.

The diplomatic engagements between Trump, Netanyahu, Biden, and Harris reflect the complex dynamics between the United States and Israel. Both countries are grappling with ongoing tensions in the Middle East, as well as the task of fostering peace and stability in the region.

As the discussions continue, the international community will closely watch for any advancements or decisions that could shape the future of the Middle East and impact American-Israeli relations.
