Cooper DeJean, Former Iowa Football Star and Philadelphia Eagles Draft Pick, Challenged by Caitlin Clark on Basketball Court

In an unexpected turn of events, Cooper DeJean, the former Iowa football standout and recent draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been challenged to a one-on-one matchup on the basketball court by Caitlin Clark. DeJean, who had expressed confidence in his basketball skills before the NFL Draft, now faces the possibility of proving himself against Clark, a renowned player in women's college basketball.

During an interview with Kay Adams on her show "Up and Adams," DeJean shared his thoughts on the potential matchup. Despite emphasizing his respect for Clark's achievements in women's basketball and the University of Iowa, DeJean believed he could "pull off" a win against her. However, Clark wasted no time and promptly texted him, stating her doubts about his ability to defeat her on the court.

While Adams expressed skepticism about DeJean's chances, the former football star insisted that he possessed the skills necessary to compete. As they reviewed his high school basketball highlights, DeJean demonstrated glimpses of his talent, further fueling speculation about the outcome of a game between him and Clark.

DeJean's basketball career at OABCIG High School in Ida Grove, Iowa, was impressive, with him scoring a total of 1,832 points over three years. This accomplishment even outshines NBA player Harrison Barnes' career score in Iowa by 45 points. However, he still falls behind Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson by 55 points.

On the other hand, Clark ended her collegiate basketball career at the University of Iowa as the all-time leading scorer in Division 1 college basketball. Her exceptional skills and contribution to the sport have solidified her status as a force to be reckoned with.

Although there is no set date for the potential face-off between DeJean and Clark, the anticipation among fans of both football and basketball continues to grow. Whether DeJean can back up his words and conquer the court against Clark remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – the matchup promises to be a thrilling showdown.
