## Ford to Offer Free Home Chargers and Installation for New EV Buyers in Fourth Quarter

Ford is taking a significant step to address customer concerns about electric vehicle (EV) charging by offering a free home charging unit and complimentary installation to buyers of its new EVs.

This initiative, which is an industry first, aims to bolster EV sales that have not met expectations due to consumer apprehensions about the complexities and inconveniences of charging. Ford announced that from October 1 to January 2, any customer who purchases or leases a new Ford EV will qualify for this special offer under the Ford Power Promise program.

Ford officials explained that this move comes in response to surveys indicating that many potential EV buyers are deterred by the confusing and often daunting task of selecting and setting up a home charging system.

The package includes a free Level 2 charger, installation scheduled and managed by Ford, along with 24-7 customer support and roadside assistance to alleviate concerns about running out of charge while on the road.

Company executives, including CEO Jim Farley, emphasized that "charging anxiety" remains a significant barrier for consumers considering the switch to electric vehicles. This offer is designed to reduce that anxiety and make the transition to EVs more appealing and accessible.
